About Attorney Tom Rigby

Tom Rigby founded The Real Estate Law Firm in 2013 with a simple idea: real estate attorneys should be as efficient, accessible, and deal-savvy as the agents and investors they serve. Before starting the firm, Tom served as a litigation defense attorney, corporate counsel for an S&P 500 real estate company, and in-house counsel for a leading Illinois title insurance provider.

That combination of courtroom experience, corporate deal-making, and title insurance expertise gives Tom a perspective that most real estate attorneys don’t have. He’s also an active real estate investor himself—so he understands transactions from every angle, not just the legal one.

Tom and his team have closed over 10,000 transactions to date. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Kane County Bar Association, and holds a J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law.
